Harvey was born in NYC and since 1984 has lived in Washington, DC. In 2011, during his first tango lesson, he was instantly mesmerized by the music which evoked fond and precious childhood musical memories.

He has participated in many tango events in North America, Europe, and Argentina. Harvey has organized tango events and DJ’ed for marathons, encuentros, festivals, retreats, milongas, and special celebrations.

Karen Jaffe lives near Asheville, NC. In her 25+ years of Tango she has supported dancers and communities through offering countless classes and social dances along with organizing dozens of full weekend events with exceptional guest teachers. She travels extensively to continue her own education and to teach, DJ and perform. In her many years of study with numerous masters she continues to evolve both as a dancer and a teacher. She is known for her skilled, engaging, and musical dancing in both roles, and for her easygoing, fun and playful energy. She is currently touring the US with her Argentine partner Tate Di Chiazza.
Karen began DJing early on her Tango journey and from 2006-2015 played music for her weekly milonga in downtown Asheville as well as many events around the region. She strives to create a stimulating and emotional journey for the dancers, encouraging them to go deeper in their connection with both their partner and the music, for a richer, more quality experience.
Her vast exploration of both traditional and alternative music, over many years, allows her a great range of possibilities to create an environment for
optimal enjoyment!
Vania began DJing tango in 2008 in NYC, and over the years she has witnessed a constant evolution both in her musical preferences and in her DJ style. A tango teacher since 2002, her greatest strength as a DJ has been to stay conscious of that development, because it permits her to relate to and play for dancers with wide spread of experience and skill levels. Aside from hosting/DJing a monthly milonga in Austin, TX, she travels regularly to teach and DJ tango around the world, thus far having had the opportunity to play for dancers in over 50 cities on 3 continents, including in Buenos Aires.
Ashvin has had multiple DJ tours of Buenos Aires, playing at the world’s most iconic venues such as Sunderland, Salón Canning, El Beso, Marabú, La Nacionál, Fulgor, Villa Malcolm and Lo De Celia. As of his 4th tour, Ashvin had played at 35 Buenos Aires milongas, and multiple times at popular names like Porteño y Bailarín, Balmaceda, Parakultural and Gente Amiga. In November 2022, Ashvin was interviewed as a DJ by the Buenos Aires Tango radio station La 2x4, FM 92.7. Ashvin has been DJing since 2010 and his strength is a rhythmic mix. He is as adept at following the crowd as he is leading it. Most often his tandas stand out for being unpredictable and deeply evocative. Besides DJing in Buenos Aires, Ashvin has played at a wide range of North American tango festivals - most notable among them the Tucson Tango Festival where, for 3 years in a row he has DJed 9 hours nonstop at the All Nighter. He has also DJed in Canada, and also at festivals in Europe and Mexico. He has been invited at international festivals to give seminars on the art of DJing. Terry Eso is an Alternative Tango DJ. Although he loves traditional tango music, he LOOOVES alternative tango music. The selections he chooses are hot, rhythmic, soulful, fun, and truly danceable.
He hails from New York, where he has rocked the house at:
Sarah LaRocca’s The All Night Milonga,
Adam and Ciko’s Mala Leche,
Olga and Alex's Speakeasy Milonga
and Kelly Ray’s Buttonwood Alternative Milonga (PA).
Terry was one of the DJs for Zoe Lechucita’s alternative tango event at Candlelight Milonga, in North Carolina. There, he became enamored with the dancers of this area. They are skillful dancers who are friendly, creative, and open to new experiences!
Terry had the honor of DJing the Queen City Tango Marathon in 2019 and 2023. The awesome hosts, Mark and Kim Mindel, provided such an outstanding atmosphere (and floor!) that neither the performers, the DJs, or the dancers wanted to miss a beat of the music.
THIS event will be no different.
Don’t miss a beat…
Esooo! :^)
Christian Xell, also known as Don Xello, embraced Tango in 2004 and has been enthralled by it ever since. By 2005, he had already organized his first Milongas in Vienna at the Galeria Ideal, a venue that still exists today and has become the largest regular Milonga in Austria. He first visited Buenos Aires in 2008, leading to longer stays in the city over time. In 2012, frustrated by the poor music quality at Milongas worldwide, Don Xello began collecting Tango records. Soon after, he was offered his first collection of shellac Tango recordings, which he purchased. In 2013, he founded TangoTunes, a label dedicated to high-quality transfers of Tango shellac records. TangoTunes is now the world's largest provider of argentine tango music. While the label acquired numerous Tango collections, many were from lesser-known dance orchestras, valuable historically but not often played at Milongas. These lesser-known collections didn't gain much attention commercially or from TangoTunes, so in 2021, the establishment of a Tango Argentino Foundation was decided upon and formally completed in 2023. This foundation will focus on areas not covered by TangoTunes, such as digitizing records from artists like Corsini, Magali, Firpo, and many others. Additionally, it supports contemporary Argentine Tango artists with infrastructure and funding.
Koichiro Suzuki earned his Master’s Degree in Music Performance at Duquesne University and has performed Euphonium internationally since 1996. He is the founder of the annual Pittsburgh Tango Fierro Marathon & Festival in Pittsburgh, PA, and has DJ’ed in many cities in the United States, Argentina, Canada, Cyprus, Mexico, and Japan.
Tango found Kim in 2012, and she quickly became hooked on the music. After receiving encouragement from Cleveland organizers and DJs, she started working in her own community. She completed a series
of DJ seminars with Hernán Prieto, which greatly influenced her technique and style. She has been working consistently since then as a regular host and guest DJ all over North America. Kim’s style is best characterized as one that creates a positive, upbeat vibe with a focus on the subtle beauty and diversity of the music. Her mission is to play exciting, trustworthy sets that inspire you to have your best tandas. She has a strong traditional influence in her selections.
Some of the highlights of her work include: ESO! Tango Marathon–Alt Milonga (Buffalo)
Toronto Tango Experience (Toronto, CA)
Cleveland Tango Bowling Marathon (Cleveland)
Encuentro Milonguero Asheville
