“I first visited the Queen City area, from NY, looking for a community of tango dancers who loved traditional tango music, but who were also open to something else. I attended Zoë Lechucita’s alternative tango milonga, during the time of the Candlelight Tango Festival. I was blown away by the energy in the room. Other than Zoe’s effervescence, and Mark’s outstanding floor, the dancers were excited about exploring all types of songs. Even the people who were not on the dance floor were grooving to the music.
“I later met Mark, and attended the Queen City Marathon. I loved it. I found the friendly atmosphere that Mark and Kim created, the inclusion of alternative music in the schedule, the skill of the various DJs, and the energy and musicality of the dancers, all to be outstanding.
“I’m honored to take part in such a well-organized, highly successful tango marathon. I hope you will come for a good time and some great dances. But even when you’re not dancing, you can groove to some hot sexy rhythmic music…”
