Has DJ’d, by invitation, at festivals, milongas, marathons and encuentro milongueros in: Calabria, Tel Aviv, Ljubljana Slovenia, Verona, Milan (Italy), Tenerife (Spain); Albuquerque, Asheville, Atlanta, August, Charleston, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbia, Knoxville, Louisville, Minneapolis, Nashville, Newport News, Phoenix, Santa Fe, Salida, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Tucson, Washington DC.
Jae has been teaching Tango in the Triangle since 2011, where she also organizes a weekly practica, and a monthly milonga.
Jae’s approach emphasizes, and seeks to blend, the physical and mental connections, and musical properties of the dance. She embraces tango as a medium through which we may express ourselves, communicate with our partners and immerse ourselves in the music and ambient energy that is the social tango experience.
Kayla began her Argentine tango studies in 2005, taking her first tango steps at 10 years old. She is currently based in Charlotte, NC, where she teaches and is the current organizer of the Southeast Tango Festival. Kayla travels consistently and extensively to continue expanding her tango and teaching methods. She encourages adaptive, sensitive, and mindful techniques to be used within the embrace and on the social floor. Throughout her career, Kayla has had the pleasure of teaching and performing in many different milongas, festivals, marathons and concerts within the U.S. accompanied by various outstanding partners. Some of these events include Latino Americano Festival of Charlotte, Spoleto Tango Festival, Pittsburgh Tango Marathon, Columbia Tango Marathon, XV Gala 2022, What A Wonderful World with Ensemble Eclectica, Charlotte International Arts Festival and many more.

Shahin Medghalchi is a well traveled argentine tango dancer, teacher and DJ in North America, Europe and Argentina. She was trained by masters of tango from Buenos Aires, Argentina, through her travel since 1998. Since 2002 she has been very successful in teaching musicality, rhythm, connection and, more than ever, the basics and fundamentals of movement for argentine tango dancers at any level. She is extremely detail oriented. Her lessons are engaging and technical.
Shahin is a sensational dancer, a skilled teacher and a superb Dj. Besides her successful Three days workshop at the Penn State University in 2005, and her ongoing private lessons locally and nationally, her workshops at the New Mexico Latin Dance Fest in 05 & 06 were unforgettable. Shahin has been instrumental in organizing The Santa Fe Tango Ensemble which has been an exciting addition to the tango scene in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Karen Jaffe lives near Asheville, NC. In her 25 years of Tango she has supported dancers and communities through offering weekly classes, social dances and has organized dozens of events with exceptional guest teachers. She has traveled extensively to continue her own education and to teach. Her reputation in both the SE and wider Argentine Tango community is that of a skilled and engaging partner and teacher with well refined technique. Watch for news of the return of her partner Tate Di Chiazza, and their tour plans late 2022, or early 2023!
As a DJ, Karen chooses music to engage the dancers, creating a container for a stimulating and emotional journey. She strives to inspire dancers to go deeper in their connection with both their partner and the music, for a richer, more quality experience. Her vast exploration of the traditional as well as alternative music, over many years, allows her a great range of flexibility to create an environment for optimal enjoyment!
Vania embarked on her tango-teaching journey in 2002 in Berlin, Germany. After being invited to teach in New York City in 2005, she decided to make North America her new base. Since that time, Vania has traveled to teach and DJ tango in Buenos Aires, and all over north America and Europe - in 4 languages.
Vania is highly respected and almost equally accomplished as both leader and follower. Her greatest strengths as both a dancer and a teacher are her versatility and range, traits gleaned and continually developed on her own tango journey, through years of experience dancing and teaching a wide variety of styles - from Nuevo to Milonguero.
As an instructor, Vania emphasizes fine-tuning the fundamentals and encourages the sharing of more nuanced communication as a path for deeper connection.
